Bill Stearns - NE4RD

Bill Stearns, NE4RD, was originally licensed in 1994 at the Melbourne Hamfest in Florida as KE4RGH.  He was an active member of Civil Air Patrol and a past president of the Amateur Radio Association of Southwest Florida.  While in Florida he was very active in contesting, satellites, and VHF.  In 2009 he upgraded to Extra and changed his callsign to match his personality.

 

Bill currently resides in Billings, MT, with his wife and three children.  He is a Life Member of the ARRL and the K2BSA Amateur Radio Association.  He is active in stateside contesting with the Big Sky Contesters club and SkyWarn with the Yellowstone County ARES group.  He is a software and systems engineer, podcaster, and generally a nerdy guy.  You can also find him on the Linux in the Ham Shack podcast where he's been a co-host since May 2016 (Episode 168).
